My research explores how social relationships, technological change, and care responsibilities shape human behaviour, health, and well-being.
Working across demography, economics, and population health, I combine quantitative, experimental, and interdisciplinary approaches to investigate how individuals and societies respond to changing circumstances.
How does technology reshape demographic behaviour and social inequalities?
My work examines how mobile phones, digital connectivity, and technological change influence fertility, migration, gender equality, health, and economic opportunities, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
How do the social environments in which we live shape our decisions and relationships?
I study how norms, trust, social interactions, and cultural narratives influence economic and social behaviour, cooperation, well-being, and attitudes toward collective responsibility. My research combines behavioural and experimental approaches with large-scale social data.
How do experiences of caring for others transform our own lives?
I investigate how caregiving, parenthood, and social responsibilities shape health and well-being across the life course. My current research explores vulnerability not simply as a condition to overcome, but as a fundamental dimension of human experience, shaped by individual histories and the social organisation of care.
